Hi Folks.
I'm replacing my 3 sheave deck organisers with double stacked ones as I need more lines and I don't have the deck space for a pair of 6 sheave ones. The existing ones aren't through bolted to the deck because they sit atop the part of the deck where there's a lot of mast support on the inside and so the deck at that point is about 10cm thick (hard to tell exactly) The one's that I'm taking off, had 30mm self tapping screws screwed directly into whatever it is that Beneteau embed within the coach house roof to hold the mast up instead of a compression post. Unfortunately to attach the new organisers in the same way would need about a 75mm screw to penetrate the same depth, plus a bit, and these don't seem to be made. I suppose I could drill 5 holes right through and through bolt them with very long bolts with washers and nuts on the inside, but that seems a bit wrong, given that it's a stressed part of the boat. Alternatively, I could bolt the sheaves to some hardwood blocks and then screw those to the deck, but I don't want to create more of a trip hazard than I am already. Has anyone got a better suggestion?
Thanks
Simon
