Could you expand on that a bit? I am assuming you mean morally reprehensible in some way. It is difficult to see how you might be exploiting the assumed desperation of the would-be illegal immigrants by buying the confiscated former property of a people-smuggler.

Sounds like a romantic character trait! Some would feel (or at least imagine) the life of the boat and others would see it purely as an inanimate object. Do you think you'd feel it if you bought one but didn't know it's history? Genuine interest as I do wonder if objects can absorb or give off things that we can sense. Very old items seem to have an essence about them so I do wonder, but it could be just being more imaginative rather than being in tune with something that is really there.
