You might be able to do it, but I bet they will be highly stressed and more prone to breakdowns. I'd leave well alone.

Definitely possible. We had a single 180 in our boat which was up rated some years ago to about 210. I believe it involved a new fuel governer, injectors and turbo. Speak to Mermaid about it as ours was a factory approved upgrade.

To make a real noticeable difference, you need 275 to 300 hp to make the boat fly.

talk to latestarter.

What model are the engines what age, what is the PX value of engines and gearboxes. I assume 20 years old plus by boat model?

Possibly a reporter would give the performance and future proofing you require.

No way Dave leave them as they are, the 180 started life as a 120 nat/inspired, then they added a turbo to up it to 150, then they went the whole hog with a charge air cooler and screwed 180 out of it, then they played with the pump and injectors to get 210, our AB'S will require a good bit of rejigging to go for the 275's i.e the BW 1.1 BOXES WILL HAVE TO GO, followed by re alignment, New P brackets and props, been there but drew back at the last moment, saw a real gem ruined by trying to get more speed, it broke the owners heart and his pocket. I could not give our engines away, so they got rebuilt.

That's good advice.
