Increasing dislike of some replies /posts ....

I think the 'constant' whinging is more annoying than anything else on here.... and in the long run has probably consumed far more disc space....

The 1000 post thread was an attempt to wish Nick good luck in his grand adventure... sorry you feel that it wasn't appropriate.... but I thought it a nice way to say good luck, and to thank him for all the work he has put into sailing online resources and in contributing to this forum....

Your post comes across as a bit Stalinist to me....

I too wish him the very best ... and we are all allowed our opinions of best way to do it.

Its interesting to see the intolerance on here generally..... and particularly on this thread...

Words like prats, childish, morons, drivvle are used... I am glad that people are able to express opinions, but I'd rather have pages and pages of drivel, than one line of this kind of stuff. I try to teach my children about constructive debate and how resorting to base is ineffective at best, and more usually, has exactly the opposite effect to that required...

So go ahead... carry on being rude... apparently its better than being flippant..... must tell my kids....

I think you must be referring to me and thus must find yourself in exactly the same position as Nigel accused me of being. Except for the important distinction that I was commenting on something that Nigel himself had claimed in his post.
You on the other hand, without ever having met me or spoken to me, have decided I am an "uppity yob".
Perhaps you are annoyed that I like to have a light-hearted outlook to the forum and are ignoring the many serious and technical discussions I engage in.

By the way. Thank you for assuming I am a lad as I passed by that milestone some time ago.

Isn't it possible that any "humour" or joke posted on this thread would die a death ? Be read out of place ....... blimey I know full well - having made the mistake of having a few and then posting !!

But the interesting thing that has come out of it is the views and sides that people assume. Also the apparent perceptions and understandings of some. Right or wrong .... they all mean something to the poster !!

You started all this rubbish, now it has inflamed a few people, who's fault is that? It lies at your door.
If you are not satisfied with the posts on here, dont read them. If you wish to complain to the moderators, please do so, it's of course your right. But this is a public or members forum, please remember that and we do have moderators, also, this post was all of your own making, had you just complained in the right quarters, none of this would have happened.
Shame on you! Upsetting folk like this, no need for it. I think you should now stop posting on this post and let it die the death it should have done, let it rest in peace!
