Some clever \"B\" makes it hard to read thread .....

Many thanks ...............

Why not post a picture to fill the pixels ...................

Good example of my point ....

I'm with you small boat champ. Excellent advice is great, needless or pointless replies unfortunately just seem to reduce the quality of the forum. Probably getting old but that's how it appears to me.
Harry.

My sides are aching.....

Not.

I rarely post as I'd rather not waste my time, life's too short.
If I need help or advice, I ask. If I can offer it, I do.
Keep the childishness for The Lounge.

You must be a real laugh at the pub.

'Oi, get back to the subject, I was talking about 2nd division football, you can't
mention Arsenal'

'This is the public bar, only football women & darts allowed here'

'YOU CAN'T TELL A JOKE IN HERE. Go into the Lounge bar'

Have to agree with you hilarity belongs in the lounge, thats what it was designed for, amusing answers, yes, but to the point I agree.

succint and to the point .. erm should'nt this non boaty thread either be in the Lounge or the Victor Meldrew forum?

Its a secret forum and you qualify by making at least 15 moanie posts .. Small_boat_champ qualified several years ago

However much I agree with your opinions expressed in this thread, as you state you are not the YBW Moderator. So instead of advisinig what you would do if your were Moderator and inviting more silly posts, why don't you adress your beef directly to the Moderator, who you obviously feel is doing an inadequate job? If there isn't any joy there, it isn't compulsory to enter the forum and read the posts...

Agree 100% (even though I plead guilty to wandering off topic sometimes)

We used to say, when I was still working, that a meeting needs 5% of bulls**t / hilarity / nonsense, or similar to ensure that the remaining 95% - more serious stuff - is readily assimilated.

However, when one gets to a situation where the BS portion is rapidly approaching 95%, there is a real danger of the more relevant 5% being lost.

Which is a pity.

I, too, remember the forum in its infancy and agree that at that time the content was much, MUCH, more more relevant to boating.

As for the accusations and innuendoes about your performance / credentials as a contributer or possible moderator, these show up their authors as a type of person that they might well NOT be: the kind of uppity yob who tries to impress his audience by what a smart(ass) lad he is!

That would have more validity if the originator of the thread was a 5%/95% poster, instead of which he mainly posts the same pictures of his house and wife.

I can remember pointing out to the originator many years ago when he started posting jokes here that PBO forum was where serious non thread drift posts went, and the rest of the forums being for more light hearted stuff, and he replied that he was unaware of that.

I'm not sure he's ever really understood the differentation between the different forums, as he still posts threads like this here rather than in the relevant forum

I cannot comment on the first bit of that - but moaning on PBO forum about a thread that was in the SB forum, when he has already moaned about it in a different thread seems a bit pointless.

Nigel - whilst I agree to some extent about thread drift it does appear that the majority of threads are answered satisfactory, although a few side conversations may exist, but that is the nature of the human mind - with everything going off in tangents.

I heartly recommend some fresh beef steaks quickly BBQ'd with a light green salad and chips ... yum!

Despite all ....

Having got drunk, posted while under influence ... realised what a tw*t I had been ... I considered asking Keith to pull the thread ....

But decided not to. Why ? Interested to see how replies, comments and views would pan out. I even apologised - heart-felt - but wasted it seems on some.

The posts - which you say are linked are not in fact - they are separate and relate to instances on the forum they are posted on.

I have a lot of support via PM and private - but even so I regret posting ... we all have off days.
