I am seeing an increase in replies that stray off topic or don't answer the original post ...

In the old days - threads were normally on topic quite well - but it seems that nowadays the later forum's revel in trivial not even comical thread drift that beggars belief.
The style of some that cause drift is also unbelievable .... to say antagonistic is polite.

A person posts a question - he would like answers. REplies that drift of topic - If I was moderator would be cut in the bud. But because of the size if this set of forums - poor old YBW staff canbnot catch all you s*ds at it ...

I am making a heart-felt plea - can all posters please use a bit of decency when they post ?

Bomb me if you like- but honestly - some of your replies are simply disgusting.

And those who look to create silly childish records of "1000 post" threads ............ you are lucky that I am not moderator ....... Very clever to abuse the YBW facility ....

I have been unfairly accused of actions against YBW etc. - unbelievable - considering that some of those accusers are causing more damage than I !!Q!!!!

Simply put - Stop the c%$p - bring YBW Forums back to the World Leader that they were and DESERVE to be ......

Don't agree ? Post why ......... I dare you .....

So back on thread then.
A hint of what the Small Boat (no fin or long keelers) Forum will be like. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Small Boat Champ: after reading some of the replies, (which make Big Brother look like a conference of academics), I have to support you on this! And before some smart-A comes on to point out that your own post in response to 'CQR anchor stowage?' was also off track, in that it did not answer the question: it was relevant and useful. Many of us looking for a solution to a problem don't always frame the right questions and need someone to go slightly off track.
Just enjoy sailing, and contact with the like-minded, and ignore the prats!

What SBC is like ? How far from truth can you be !!

In fact - initial response and messaging supports my opinion. But also I make it clear and public - I have no reason or idea / thought / intention to moderate or control SBC ... other than to remove TOTALLY unnaceptable behaviour ... all subject to members wishes ...

Lakesailor - I regard you as one of the forum good guys - sorry but you have slandered unfairly - and I know there are "viewers" who can support my point - but I will not ask them to - they will decide themselves. So why do you come out with this crud ?

Comment on what you know - not what you think you know !

I despair of some ...

There are people with excellent experience and knowledge on here - in all forums ............... but so often the "experts" create a thread by drift or childish antics that dispells belief.

I am fed up with them ... QED

Humour and alternative vision is one thing - but some on here go out of their way to be obnoxious SOB's ....

Nigel I think you have been living in the eastern bloc too long /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I would also like to voice my support. Don't object to the occasional humurous post or minor red herring but if we try to stay on topic it helps the original poster get the answers needed and also helps anyone who doesn't have time to read everything to decide what threads to look at.

Certainly civility should be observed in all appends. If really angry count to 10 before typing.

When you say Rhubarb do you mean the bit you can eat or the leaves which you get oxalic acid from, very good cleaner.

a little touchy Nigel?
It was you who said you'd be a strict moderator, not me.

I know how you feel - I'm not adverse to posting the occasional joke (in The Lounge - where they belong), but I get the impression that at times the content on here has gone beyond pathetic.

The final straw - for me - was this "1000 posts" thread. I don't get it, what was the bloody point? Saying goodbye to Webcraft? Exactly how does a 1000+ posts of drvvle & hot air make him feel appreciated?

LS .... I don\'t see you in the SBC ...

You made a comment that strayed outside of this thread by implying that I would apply strict moderation to SBC ..... as you are not in SBC - how do you know what is fact or not ....

What I have heard so far is hope that it will not descend to some of the style posts seen on here ....

That is why I say ... "comment on what you know"

LS - I'm suprised at you .....

Re: LS .... I don\'t see you in the SBC ...

Quite right Nigel

Passionate stuff - if a touch incoherent and not proofread.
I quite enjoy seeing where threads lead. My only beef is with people who start new posts without giving them sensible titles. Surely the title should give some indication of what the post is about?
