Surely a post requesting information on a Bav 47 on PBO is absolutely appropriate, my guess is that the boat is about three years old and therefore needs a complete refit. Starting next month you will be treated to an article on "how I rescued a Bav 47 of 1999 vintage, previously used as a cottage in the Solent, and by simply adding some decent internal woodwork and strengthening the hull with angle irons and meat pie tins I now have a boat that I would happily sail from Calshot to Portsmouth, without even sending in a passage plan to Solent Coastguard."

Why not? They ran a similar article about re-decking a Westerly Oceanlord where the so called 'teak' deck (ply laminate) delaminated, a common defect. Had they been watching they might have seen the 5yr old Nauticat I saw having it's gelcoat removed for full osmosis treatment too. Or 'how to keep rainwater out of a Moody XX' that has dripped from new 5 years ago'.

You\'ve got it all wrong

He wanted to know how to convert it into a boat with no headroom, leaks, singles sleeping accomodation only and a cockpit for very tall thin people and very little decent stowage. Oh - dark and dingey.
