Left Heathrow 11am Saturday for Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan via Almaty, Kazahstan. Landed at around 10pm your time at Almaty where it was 13 degree below only to be told by a too jolly captain that the plane was broken and couldn't fly until a spare part was sent out. That is due out on a Lufthansa flight at 1230am local time (8.30pm to you) and apparently the plane can be fixed in 10 minutes! In the meantime though we (10 of us) are not allowed into Kazahstan becasue we have no Visas and so we are trapped in no man's land in the transit lounge. Been here 11hrs so far and another 10 to go....... Always assuming
a. The Lufthansa flight makes it
b. The part fits
c. The part that is being fitted is really the problem that broke
d. And that it hasn't snowed in the meantime to cut us off

So some nice summer images of our coast would be appreciated..........

You do go on holidayto the strangest places :D

It's a lovely sunny day and above freezing.:p

Close your eyes and think of this

Ah dear Salcott. Unfortunately that image Roger contains my neighbour's boat (first right) which is a real pain to be reminded about.

Holiday? SWMBO decided it was time we had a new three piece suite - just after she found that new snuffer for the cruising chute.

That's nice - Ramsgit. Seems positively attractive from here - another hour gone by! One's gents loo (2 seater) for the entire international terminal! Too much detail?

Did I get the sympathy level right?

Peter, that's very touching! (Ben-hur - speed up to ramming speed). actually I agreed to do this because they are talking about finding new money for Mauritius. Wouldn't want them to think I only do the nice jobs!

Getting dark now - 1730hrs, 77 degrees east but 10 degrees south so a longer day.

No, not allowed out from airside. We are effectively detained, not allowed in because we have no visas! Takes two weeks for a visa apparently! Can only see the immediate apron outside the terminal - and that's snow covered, 6 degrees below at the moment. Lets hope fog does not come down.

PS Dick, leave Flo alone and get well soon......
