If you hear a bang

My home made pressure tester. This is at 90 PSI according to my bicycle pump, the manual says 100 PSI (.7 bar). So far no bubbles or bangs. Anything else I can check or do differently? Access to the oil cooler is extremely restricted on the boat requiring the heat exchanger to be removed and and trying to refit everything blind.

What are you trying to destroy Colin?

Testing for leaks on the oil chamber of an oil cooler. Hopefully as it held air at 100 PSI it'll hold oil at 60

Very wise to do a pressure test before refitting, however, did you manage 100psi as per manual . Although the normal running pressure shown on the gauge my be 60, in cold weather it will be higher at first and, more importantly, engine oil pumps actually deliver a high frequency pulse so the peaks will be higher than the average shown on the gauge.

Yes I got to 100 PSI, I used one of those upright bike pump things but it still took a lot of oomph

How long did you leave it for after pumping up ?

About an hour. The manual doesn't say how long. I left it submerged in the soapy water and there were no bubbles and the gauge didn't move either.
