Re: Absolutely nothing..

What do you mean fly for a penny!!!!! I have just done 12 flights with ryanair over the past 2 months...the most I paid for a return including tax was £12.78...every flight bar one was on time or ahead of schedule...if you want to dole out a fortune to British Airways well be my guest but please dont knock my favourite Airline....p.s. going over to Gothenberg in April to collect new Naajad with the new owner...we paid a penny for hat flight...enjoy BA and your £200 free drinks and sandwich...get a life!!!!!!

Re: Absolutely nothing..

Never flown Ryan air, I travel mainly on business at short notice, but when tried to book found they ended up more expensive than likes of BA or BMi, especially with Ryan air's excess baggage charges.
Know some peeps who've flown Ryan Air and would never use them again.
Also heard a rumour that Ryan Air sent 6 aircraft for cleaning and all were grounded as unsafe, though don't know if true or not.
One advantage IMHO with flying likes of BA etc is that at least you know the aircraft are properly maintained.
As for Easyjet at least they use fairly new aircraft, wonder what average age of Ryan Air's fleet is?

Re: Absolutely nothing..

Regarding Ryanair fleet, yes during a recent inspection 3 aircraft were grounded due problems caused by previous owner and paint..they are sitting here at Prestwick. As for the rest of the fleet the majority new or newish 737 800 series with plenty new aircraft on order awaiting delivery from Boeing...sugest you look at the age of some BA aircraft...you may be suprised!!!!

Re: Absolutely nothing..

Possibly, but most ryan air aircraft i've seen rather ancient 737's.

You work for Ryan air?/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Re: Absolutely nothing..

Ahh I see your occupation is "Air Traffic" so presumably you work at Prestwick, a vested interest then?

I'll fly with any airline going where I want at the time I want. It just seems that RyanAir can't manage to achieve that.

Ryan air - not so bad

Flew to Dublin on Ryanair yesterday, it was so windy they were cancelling outbound flights. Never had such a bumpy approach to a landing, plane getting chucked about everywhere, most passengers looking about nervously, pilot puts it down perfectly and then after his brief welcome to Dublin says "hope you enjoyed that as much as we did!". Came back Aerlingus - only difference was the gap between the seats and Aerlingus was £40 more, both pretty good and easy to book on line.

Re: Ryan air - not so bad

You Musta gone from Lba Dave, it would seem the problem being with this ryan air hoohaa at the moment is down to the fact that the airport over in Belgium belongs to the people and not a company, if my understanding is correct?

<hr width=100% size=1>Someday my ship will come in, and with my luck I'll be at the airport!!

Re: Absolutely nothing..

Yes work at Prestwick not the airfield but the control centre. Therefore Ryanair only a very small percentage of our customers, however still say they will soon be market leader in safety, efficiency, and performance...will soon have the UK's most up to date fleet of aircraft. As for a bumby approach into Dublin, with the winds experianced that day what do you expect??...maybe paying BA £100 more per seat would have smoothed the air!!! I think not.
