Yes, you will find it scratches the windows, but in its dioxide form is very good in concrete and for forming beaches /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

If you mean silicone, then it can be easily removed when fresh, using meths. I wish I had discovered that a few years before... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Of course some may think this hilarious, stupid and completely non-marine !

But after sealing down my cockpit sole with it - I can see other uses for it.

It's self-adhesive window sealing strip ... sold in rolls at loacl DIY shop. You can buy it in D shape or B shape profile. I bought the B shape profile - keeping true to my "economy" thinking. This then doubled the length I had for use as I could separate the two effective D parts - giving me two rools for price of one.
It's soft, weather proof and would I reckon stick to cabin side suitably for surface mounted window to be screwed up against it. No mess, no fuss, all neat and tidy in one go.

As to my cockpit sole - it proved to be the best seal ever fitted - after 2 years it's still doing its job despite my liftung sole quite often.
