Blimey. The word y'all are looking for is Masochist, beginning with a Y, surely?

A Yachtosist ? One who, whilst perfectly capable and responsible , knowingly and unfailingly returns to the maritime source of their penuary and displeasure.

All I know is that the more you use it, the better it gets and the more diluted become the bills.

I will stick with Sail- Selectively available intelligent life ( and get my coat on too)

As we exited the Kiel Canal the 2nd. Officer of the Baltic Eider was explaining the term "WAFI" to me as a small yacht cut across our bow.
My wife joined us on the bridge to enquire why we were slowing down and sounding the ships siren.
No 2 explained that "Yachting Activity Creates Hazards To Shipping"
He had previously sailed on the RMS St. Helena (128 passengers) as a deck officer, so maybe he had coined this phrase during that time.
Incidently he was himself a keen yachtsman.
