idea for mast ladders

These escape ladders seem quite new. I wonder if they could be adapted to be hoisted up a mast, and secured at the bottom.

The snag would be that it would not be secured along its length, so could sway away from the mast. Might not be a problem, but there is a mast ladder of similar design (http://www.gdeffee.freeserve.co.uk/) which uses slides to keep it next to the mast. I find it excellent, it takes up little storage space, and is light and well made. No connection, just a satisfied customer, and judging by other reports on here, I'm not the only one.

I just use the ladder that I use to clear the gutters each year. SWMBO thought the purchase ok when it was used on the house but has yet to smell th erat on boat use. SHhhhhhhhhhhh

"sigh". Moor the boat to the dock at the yard. Park the cherry picker on the hard next to it. It's a lot quicker than a "quick" shin up the mast and I can do it alone.

That's fine and dandy if all your mast problems happen when you're conveniently alongside. In the real world, however......
