Interesting article in the RYA mag that just arrived about how an ICC issued by the RYA in UK is only acceptable abroad on UK registered vessels. Apparently Brits wanting to charter abroad heve been declined due to ICC being invalid due to vessels non UKregistration .

RYA confirm in the article this is absolutely correct, so it seems one has to ensure if you have an ICC issued in UK, charter a UK registered vessel!! Anyone else come across this?? Paul

Well last year I chartered in Greece, with a Greek Co. and had no problem with using my ICC as proof of "ability" (HA,HA). Mind you it was for one of those saily boat things. Have things changed this year ? Gulp, wonder where my other "certificates" are - I'm going again in 8 wks.
