If I offended anyone with my thread posted last night I apolagise.

All I can say that lifes small luxuries are being gradually eroded away from us here in the UK, hence my attitude last night, and of course the alcohol did not help either.

Enough said!

Did'nt offend me in the slightest .. I was impressed by your restraint. My effective income tax burden has gone from c35% to over 60% under new labour (I'm an IT contractor caught by IR35). I count NI (employer & employee) as income tax.

Re: NOT accepted

ooh, well whatever it was , it's too late. You can't come on here cravenly requesting our forgiveness ESPECIALLY at weekends or in the evenings. Or anytime really. You're a marked man and that's that. However, I myself can't rember what itwas, so probly not too serious. Was it the one which recommended the Amex Black card card to tsunami refugees to whislte up their own helicopter full of food?

Re: new layabout

ah, but the number of people that i consider to be complete twats has increased from approximately 40% of the population to over 80%. This shows how very very succesful their education policy has been for me anyway, i reckon.

Thanks for your support Jim.....Yes I realise I speak my mind like yourself, Unfortunatly I must have upset someone as the thread for what I can see has been removed. But then again mate I have not entered a popularity contest!

Regards Dave

Re: IR35 workaround

akaik, if you and eight mates all have companies and invoice each other a lot, that's fine cos each of you have seven clients. OR you all band together and invoice according to how much work you do and rip the divs leaving zero at eoy.

Now you've really got my interest. I cant find the previous post, and I'm wondering if it was even worse than the cr*p I've posted after a few drinks and an argument with SWMBO. Mind you, as long as no one I know discovers my alias............

Cheer up - we all do it!

Hit the nail right on the head Nick!.......One Question though as after all I am still a little confused.....Was I in the right to knock GB and the current office? I assumed even today that boaty people followed T Heath! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: censorship

We seem to be subject to prompt censorship at present, the Boatmatch advertorial got binned before I could post my putdown.

Could this be related to the LIB and the fact that The Management wish to portray Scuttlebutt as an online oasis where erudite gentlefolk engage in educational and harmonious discussions about how to tack up the River Hamble at 5pm on a Sunday

Re: censorship

Nicely put Jonjo...although I must add I am clamped a little in irons at the mo! If you missed my thread it was about slating the Chancellor and that his taxes were affecting my boating expenditure!

Not sure I understand the grounds for censorship either. OK, maybe I didn't agree with all that was said but asterisks were provided in all the right places IIRC.

I had read your post and uploaded a counter point, but the thread was entertaining even so. Perhaps we need a vicious and libelous New Year mega thread to tempt all the old timers back onboard?

Re: censorship

I 100% make you right there Jonjo....What frightens me that people now are accepting government policies and are being brain washed under the current regime.

I realise I must have offended...but then again if people accept (without trying to sound too political) nothing is going to change!
