480 meters above sea level in farming community little demand, but could supply to passing rtw yachtperson, ring before coming?
You can't be far from the rias? So maybe a little tear out for local sailing?
I fixed some bits on a Swan a couple (3?) years ago. They were on route to the med. Still in the rias and enjoying them. OK not full time, but cruising when they can.

Sorry Daydream Believer . Nah . Lots of words there , lots of references to those whose books and achievements you and I will both have read .
( Including one who I def would not wish to spend quality time with on a small boat ?) but, I still find your throwaway jibes at someone’s perceived failings in your eyes .. unwelcome .
Or rude even !
Can’t answer for the snowflakes tho ?
Not everyone wishes to burn their bridges on the home front in order to sail away-tho that would make it easy peasy . It has little to do with what used to be described as LMF in the army I think..
As I used to quip -and you may relate to -you only have to be brave for three days on a downwind blue water adventure , because after that you ain’t no way, not a snowballs , beating back to safe harbour anyway !

Have a great third round Britain and I hope it worthwhile doing and afterwards

So why is it staggeringly rude, to any other than a snow flake perhaps. Health considerations aside, one can do lots of things if they really want. -yes it is great to dream but that is all it is. Doing things is different, but saying that you could not do it "because", does not rub.
i will give you an example - some say " family restrictions", but has that stopped Robin Knox Johnson or Alex Thomson?
Read some of Chay Blythe's quotes. "It is no use laying in bed staring at your toes, waiting for the angel Gabriel, whilst thinking, I wish i had done that"
Be a dreamer if you wish ( That is what my boat is called after all, it is what drove me to get in a position to be able to afford it) It is nice to dream but I do not in anyway think that it is rude to say that if one actually got off one's rear & made a positive lifestyle choice , selfish to others as it may seem, then one can do it.
ie If one does not want to leave the wife at home for 3 years then one did not want to sail round the world as much as they wanted to be with the wife. Understandable of course. But it makes the point
As for my point being rude-- Cobblers !!! in a nice way of course,:D:D because everyone is entitled to their opinion That is what makes the world go round.
It was certainly very direct, but in my recognition that I fit the class of those whose dreams failed badly in the initiative department, I have to admit that it was probably justified for most of us.

Nothing wrong with being 73. I intend to try my third round uk single handed in 2021 as soon as i can get that promised vaccine & i will be 74. Just got to avoid the covids until then!!mmmmm
What is the attraction of a third Round Britain? You have proved what a tough nut you are already. At your age (and I’m not too far behind) I would be thinking (and am) of cruising Norway, West Coast of Scotland, South Brittany [actually again] , wherever. What is with all this competitiveness? If you are so keen on challenges and goals why not think about doing some of the more challenging and interesting navigational passages? More satisfying in my view. But perhaps you like football as well ?.

Hate football. I only ever wanted to go sailing.
The point I was originally making was that if fit enough one should not let age be an issue to sailing. Sure there are limits to physical abilities & it is important that one knows when to recognise that. But one should not necessarily just give up, Especially with friends around one for support.
As for sailing round UK It gets adictive. I know others who have done it, or who intend to do it, more than once.
Nothing "tough nut", or competitive, going round Uk. Just lots of joined up day sails , It is fun & one meets lots of different people .So why not sail up the west coast of Scotland, or part of N Ireland. Covids might exclude yet another trip to Brittany & i am not sure how French fishermen will react to UK yachts after Brexit. Have spent weeks in the Dutch canals, so round Uk is a change. Just sailing the east coast becomes really is boring, having done it since 1968.

OK, understand, try to take in the West Coast of Ireland, now there is a challenge.
