Got no choice. The boat is due to go back in the water on Monday, so we have to go and finish her off cold or no cold. At least it isnt going to rain though

Haha, I did an overnighter a few weeks back (Ireland inland waterways) - It went down to -6 overnight and I woke to find thin ice all around the boat :-)
It was so cold that when I got up to make some coffee, I only got as far as the heater switch, then went back to bed for half an hour.
By then it was warm enough to brave making some coffee - Once washed and dressed it was superb outside in the crisp clear sunshine.

We have used the boat every weekend so far this winter. The coldest it went down to was -16 as far as we are aware. Easily sorted with an electric blanket, extra blanket on top of the bed. One of us got up early to switch on the heating, then got back in bed for an hour or so.

We have had some lovely crisp winter days aboard, although once or twice the condensation on the roof hatch has frozen!!!! Still wouldnt give up winter boating yet.

Looking for something else, not sure what it is yet, fancy a boat that can easily get into little rivers and canals.but do like fast boats as well, choices choices.

I am also a man of leisure now so will have a lot of time on my hands for fishing?

Yup, just about to head off to watch my two students do their YM exam. Be a late one again!!

Always interesting to see how your students get on on their exam after working with them all week. Can also be frustrating when there is nothing you can do when you see errors. But they should be fine.

I expect I'll get into my bed around 03.00!!

for me, I can't imagine selling the boat, while not having at least an option on another one ;)
How come you sold her ?
and apparently it was a quick and easy sale ?
I think I remember that you were quite exited when you bought her, and that was not that long ago.

there are some nice Semi displacement trawlers around :)

Tom, that seemed like a pretty quick sale period, are you allowed to say where she is going? (besides out of the country).

Good luck with the next acquisition....you might be able to follow Omega out to his favourite fishing grounds, he seems to know where they are.

The boat is going to NZ, I have been out of work since December so it was a right decision to sell this boat since I had equity in the boat and it had a loan against it, I would like to buy a boat without a loan now.

if you know of a bargain , let me know !

I'm sure the guys will let you know where the bargains are Tom....

She will be a well travelled Mustang, by the time she gets back down here again, may end up near Vagabond.

Hope everthing works out well mate...

Cheers

An excellent illustration of how puny our currency is when it makes sense to someone on the other side of the world to buy here and then pay another £20k+ to ship it back.

Good luck with the hunt....

Spot on ! 20k ! once shrinked warped...

But also this type of boat never had a market in this country (apart from me?) so it is going some where where the name means something to people. like a say Fairline or Princess here !

also the price that the guy is getting the boat is very very attractive compared for the price of the boat in Aus or NZ.

That all makes sense; clearly must be a very attractive deal and desirable boat to ship it all that way. The £20k was a lucky guess :D

We have been waiting a lifetime for the sterling to get to an affordable level against our third world currency......

I think Britains' tourism industry is going to be mamouth this summer, especially from the southern colonials.
