A raggie posting here - but you all seem to have a lot of fun. Anyway, I chucked my job in recently to go cruising for 6 months with SWMBO.

Thing is, we're not going until May 1st. Which leaves me at a bit of a loose end. So I'm looking for some simple part time work in the Solent area. More or less anything will be considered to earn a few extra pennies - van driver etc.

Don't mind you posting at all - welcome aboard. No luck with jobs from me though, and I'm North West based.

Have you tried labouring? No, not giving birth! The bricklaying type. You just find a building site and offer your services as a fetch and carry man. Pays well enough. Alternatively, register with a temp agency for shift work / temp contracts etc, you can look up ones in your area on the web. I had a spell out of work once and got a job in a plastic bottle manufacturing plant. 12 hour night shifts @ £8/hr for as many nights as I wanted. Not bad pay in 1995.

Good luck with the 6 months away - I just wish I had the b@lls to do it.
