I have a previously owned and enjoyed compact Hi8 video camera, with 12v & 240v chargers, in a nice bag with 2 spare tapes.
Easy to operate, one button recording, but does have other features if you want.
Its worth about 50 quid.


I would like to make a video of the East Coast, as seen through everyones eyes.

I propose to take some video, on the boat, in the marina, and anything that takes my fancy. Probably about 10 minutes total.

Then I will give the camera to someone else to do the same. They can pass it on to someone else to have a go, and so on.

All we need to do, is either pass it from hand to hand, or post it to the next cameraman. Each person should have it for a couple of weekends or so.

I think it could remain in circulation for a season, then bring it back home for editing.



I am thinking of starting it New Years Eve, and I will do the introductory filming...

Anyone want to join in?

Jim, if you're setting yourself up for a video editing bonanza (we could even start calling you 'Hoss' ;) ), could we send - on cd perhaps - video stuff already taken. That way if we miss the camera swap, we can still get you some film.

Interesting idea

Our kids have half term off next week (not sure if it's the same Out East?) and we plan to see if we can get some quality boating time together last week in October - any chance of borrowing it for then? I doubt we'll get much sailing done after that.
 
Count me in too, but rather than trust the camera to the Dutch postal service (it could end the exercise very quickly) I'll use my own.

I will nominate a suitable two week period.

I must try to get some footage of getting into a lock on a public holiday!
