Re: I don\'t believe it NB

"The bipartisan, independent commission is expected to release a critical report on Thursday of the administration's handling of the terrorist attacks, and it will address any aid offered to the 9/11 hijackers by Iran.

The commission has found that eight to 10 of the hijackers passed through Iran between October 2000 and February 2001, Time magazine reported this week.

The magazine said that commission investigators have found that Iran had a history of allowing al Qaeda members to enter and leave the country across the Afghan border."

Well naughty old Iran. ALL of the hijackers, and some of their mates, passed throught the USA.

Re: I don\'t believe it NB

They don't understand that their actions in the unbridled support of Israel, has made them an enemy of 50% of the worlds population.. It is so sad that their population just cannot understand that they might be doing something wrong, ie an act of war - or more relevantly acts of terrorism.

Unfortunatley we cannot just step away - our future is probably much more bound with the USA than it is with Europe - and that was probably Bliars conundrum.

Re: I don\'t believe it NB

Completely agree. But I'd go even further, most Americans don't understand that many countries choose to organise themselves in ways other than an elected democracy (or elected autocracy in the case of the UK) and are more or less happy with it that way. America as a nation seems to hold the view that if you're not organised the American way then you are doing it wrong and need to be corrected.

Re: I don\'t believe it NB

We're all entitled to our opinions, but I don't feel this forum is the place to be advocating "Attack America" Is there something tongue in cheek I'm missing? If yes, please explain, if no, please edit and delete.

Re: I don\'t believe it NB

The hijackers, to whom the article refer, must have passed through virtually every country in the World at some point in their lives, including the UK.

So for the US to start to fabricate a case against Iran on these grounds is a little bit rich.

Yes, tongue in cheek, too late to edit.

I'm pleased. It's difficult to interpret tone etc on text. I've just learnt smily faces- perhaps that's the way forwards. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Re: I don\'t believe it NB

I can easily see how the members of these fora can be whipped into a frenzy in debates such as mast/no mast, one hull/more than one, colregs, diesel duty etc..

But if I suggested a physical attack - what would our WMD be? Inflatable motoring cones at 20 paces...

Re: I don\'t believe it NB

Ah, must have misssed that one - what were the runners up?

Re: I don\'t believe it NB

Alex,

Some of us actually do not have our tongue in our cheek. It is the attitude of USA that is one of the route causes of terrorism as has been said by others with regard to the Israeli occupation of Palestine and their support for Israel against the poor Palestinians. Plus their bully boy antics toward anyone who doesn't think that the American way is the only way.

No smilely face from me!

OK OK. One step at a time- run before walking and all that stuff.

In my defence

All I'm saying is that perhaps this is not the forum to be discussing these issues. As I said in my post, everyone is entitled to their opinion and I'm not condoning one side or the other. I would have posted the same reply for any aggressive comment. Can we get back to discussing cruising, or at least something remotely related. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

Re: I don\'t believe it NB

You should n't take too much notice of this forum - everything thats said usually has a bit of alternative agenda to-it.
View it as light hearted banter between a group of rebrabate mates - or a bunch of old todgers!!!!!

Re: I don\'t believe it NB

Fair enough- it was just a fairly aggressive reply from someone I don't know.
