This is possibly the second time this months that I have managed to access the forum, every other time, i get the message "Welcome haydude" but then it is as if I wasn't logged in and I have no buttons to reply or start threads.

Now I am using a fresh Windows 7 install on a Virtual box with plain Internet Explorer, however my main box has Firefox (always latest release) on Linux.

I tried to remove the cookies as I have seen suggested, but it never works anyway. The Login button also gets a superimposed checkbox. Lately I was making also extensive use of the Android app because when I am not at my desk I use small portable devices like phone and tablet. But this one too no longer works. Since I cannot have a special virtual box or a computer+browser build just to access the forum, before I loose access again and until all the problems are fixed...

GOODBYE to EVERYONE. It has been a pleasure following your threads.

Haydude.

I have had exactly the same problems this morning. Get the welcome message and then redirected to the main forum page but not logged on. Almost given up trying.

Lots of people still have not understood that simple is better. Look at the most successful brand on the web and look at their home page. Yes, Google.

This forum was brilliant because it was simple to use and simple to read, but then somebody must have thought, we need to "upgrade". Here you go. Unusable. Now I have even lost pleasure in reading the threads because of all the clutter.

Going to Classic boat or other working forum

Your difficulties with logging in are obscure. I have Chrome on Win 7 64-bit and I have NEVER had any problems logging into the new forum. Hang around - it might improve ... ... ...

Lots of members have login problems since the upgrade I have problems with ant mobile device ipad / phone. PC fine.

I have to Click on "reply with quote" and login from there its works.

It must be you. They have done a good job making the forum easier to read than it was on day one. They are woking on other improvements.

I use Firefox on an XP PC and have no problems at all. Ditto on iPhone.

I use
Firefox on Mac
Safari on Mac
IE on an old XP PC
iOS on iphone
iOS on Ipad

.......and have no trouble whatsover.

I am so glad I am no longer involved in the software business. Trying to identify the source of peoples computer problems is enough to drive anyone prematurely grey.

HTML and the web look standard but they are not. It depends on the interpretation. It is the skill of the architect designing the site to make it compatible with ALL users not just SOME users. Because what will work with a configuration, like in your case, it might not work with a slightly different one. So it is not that MY configuration is wrong or YOUR that is good, they are both GOOD because otherwise one of us will be unable to access most of the sites on the web, but since we both are, then this site has been built in a way that WORKS FOR SOME BUT NOT for EVERYONE.

I have the same problem. Logging in has become a completely hit and miss operation. Sometimes it works, other times I have to flick across a few forums and suddenly I'm logged in, other times I have to 'pretend' to reply to a post and log in that way.
I'm hoping it will be resolved soon because it's a bit tedious if I want to respond to posts so I'm doing a lot of lurking.

The old fashioned way of doing user cceptance testing and sorting bugs before something was released no longer happens.

It doesn't seem to matter if it is software or electronics - I have similar issue with one of my potential work suppliers - I now know to not take a new product for a year so my competitors iron out all the glitches rather than me having to :)

Why are you back dude? You've left; remember?

Could be worse I suppose ... the could be camberley on the improvements!

Not had any problems at all. It seems as if some people have so many devices they don't know their stern from their windlass.

I've also had problems logging in during the last three days, as someone said, very hit and miss. ): And I'm only using one device. I'm only responding to this treat as it's one way to log in that seems to work.

Well I hope so!
