Thanks Mate

It's good the know that at least one person cares enough to post and has the skill to compose a suitable reply. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Many people would prefer not to deal with these situations and put heads deep in sand. /forums/images/icons/mad.gif

We lost a very good friend last yeat for exactly that reason - didn't even ring to see how we were - He worked at the company I left. Sad reflection on todays attitudes.

Thanks guys - comments well rec'd.

I'm actually fine about it - good chance to find something closer to home - plus a few weeks to be with the kids and enjoy the summer... /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Same thing happened to me this time last year. Had an enjoyable summer, but the boat was out of the water so couldn't use it. Got lots of jobs done around the house and garden that I'd put off for years.

What sort of job you looking for? I'm not sure what a site ops mgr is.

Good luck with the job hunting, but make the most of the time off.

<hr width=100% size=1>Err, let me know if Depsol enters the forum, I'll go and hide

Sorry to hear of you being bummed out. Hope it all comes good for you. Meantime consider this. Don't be self-employed. If you do ,you may well be able to afford to go boating, but if you're any good at what you do, you won't have the time.

Bill

bummer Adrian! If you can, do do your own thing - I do recognise the difficulty tho with kids, mortgage etc.

If it's any help, Bill - I run my own company, did / doing well and now can enjoy the river while my staff get on with keeping clients happy! Only on Monday did a client sign on the dotted line while on board, and we had a staff meeting on board yesterday. Well, they follow a well worn rule of thumb during the summer:

If he's not in the office, he'll be at home
If he's not at home, check the weather now and forecast
If neither says raining hard, he'll be at the "Teddington Office"

:)

PS I started EW in 1991 after being made redundant - albeit that I was 24 at the time.

Sorry to hear that mate - there is never a good time to look for a new job, only some times are slightly better than others....

Was told a few weeks ago that they are shutting my office, i can relocate if i want to.. from Cambridge to Reading... mmmm... have a couple of other options oprn to me, so will sit tight before saying owt!

Best of luck, but at least you have the bet possible tool for looking for work - a PC with an Internet connection...

good luck and hope all works out for you.

Craig.

Froggie,

It happened to me once, try to use it as a spring board for greater things.

in the mean time fix the slipping fan belt and go boating.
