...that Happy's boat is definitely not overloaded because we saw him zipping up through Cowes today, the freeboard was at least 2 inches above the water/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif/forums/images/icons/cool.gif But is it really necessary to tow that dinghy loaded up with the Generator and Air Condtioning/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif I also saw a Rag and Stick called "Glen Rosa" who is that? I recognise the name from around here.

Just joking Happy!!! Did you have a good time in the Solent, we just missed you at the Folly, that is where we were going when we saw you.

Glen Rosa is Jimi's boat, shared with his Russian wife Jimmie, his son Hans Blix and a few other reprobates from around here

Just got back from Soton, queue's on the A3 at 11pm, why were alll those people not at home in bed? Well I had a VERY happy, Happy1 birthday today, or was it yesterday /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I was everywhere this weekend. I arrived at Mercury very late on Friday evening due to my sobering up requirements from a binge the night before. Saturday morning was spent in Deacons yard, or more accurately Alladins Cave, getting my VHF sorted, the Silva M55 gave up the ghost after only a couple of weeks, I changed it for a NASA SX35, which is now fitted and works OK. Later on I met up with TerryW and his lovely wife at Ocean Village, Poor Terry had a terrible journey down due to M25 probs, but was friendly as ever. SWMBO, Happy junior, Happy infant and myself were invited out with Terry and his wife for a cruise, BL**dy hell, that boat goes like sh*t off a shovel !!!! It cuts up any wave that dares to get in it's way, it was fantastic. We must have been out for two hours or so, and his parking on returning was superb /forums/images/icons/wink.gif Thanks Terry you are a gentleman and a credit to the forum.

Well today I met up with Ian at Mercury, had a good chat. I then took the advice of the kind people who suggested options for my weekend. We blasted over to the Folley Inn, in a force 4 - 5, and who say's the American boats are made for lakes /forums/images/icons/wink.gif, we had no problem at all, but perhaps it was the driver /forums/images/icons/wink.gif We had a very nice meal, chilled out. I found Sundancer II at about 2.30pm ish, but no Graham, sorry I missed you Graham. I then headed to Lymington, on the way we passed a block of flats, but then I realised it was actually Moose /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif I couldn't really see his boat that well as mine is so high up /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif I registered just as he passed, I think the frantic waving and shouting juice, gave him away, we thought what is that nutter shouting a bout juice for /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif I just had time to give him a V sign /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif Only joking, I waved and gave him a Moony /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif Only joking, I gave him a thumbs up to confirm I had registered the boat as him.

Anyway, off to Lymington with passage plan prepared, water was still a bit choppy but stuck in at about 25knts, got to Lymington, met a mate and then we headed for Yarmouth. Had a lovely afternoon there, then back to Lymington and then back to Mercury to recover the boat. Fantastic weather, fantastic time had by all.

Had to wait for the tide this evening, but got out about 8.30pm. Had to wait for the hose facilities and tidy the boat ready for the return trip, got back at 12.50am!!

BRILLIANT WEEKEND!!

Re: A missing Moose

After a blisteringly hot day at the festival of speed, carried on down to Chichester to chill out with a nice free beer and a cool sea breeze.Ended up buying my own beer and surveying rows and rows of Fairlines none of which had Toscana written on em/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
Ps.very impressed with traffic jam outside marina gates going up to main road.
Err ...even my rubbish map gave a neat little side road that avoided the worst of it.

Didn't see you, but perhaps I was concentrating on reading the waves /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif We always stick to the speed limit so you either saw my sister ship, or you caught us just after a wave had tossed us forward with one of the larger freak waves /forums/images/icons/wink.gif It was pretty choppy out there on Sunday, but the boat handled it no problem. Thanks again for the trip out, we were going to but you lunch at the Folley, but we didn't see you, we will take you over in the new boat in a few weeks time.

What time of daydid you see us? we had a table booked for 1pm but parking was a bit of a pain, we managed to get between to bigger boats in the end. I think if you just saw 2 of us we had just dropped SWMBO off with Happy infant at the Folley, and were going over to park up as we had seen the space opposite. Why didn't you come in if it was that time, SWMBO was paying for the lot, I had a starter and desert /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif When did I go airborne? you mean when were we touching the water? /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif No problems at all, SWMBO would not go out if she didn't like it, or she would tell us to turn back, but it was brilliant, hence the extended afternoon, exploring Lymington and Yarmouth.

re new boat, a long story, nothing to get excited about, it's in the hands of my lawyers shall we say, so I will have to leave it to them at the moment /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

It was just before 1:00. We went to have a look as we had not been that far up river before (We try to avoid Cowes as it is too manic). Could not stop because we had to get back home.
