I have used various types in the past of course, I need to do some repairs to a transom/tube junction on a Walker Bay and wondered if anyone had any recommendations for a really strong (or commercial) adhesive I could use.

I tend to use any proprietary product when replacing handles and rub-strips and the like but if available I would like to know if there is a better/stronger product for this job. Any advice/recommendations welcome.

Try two-pack contact adhesive. Make sure the surfaces are absolutely clean. I think I used acetone

Polymarine make a 2 pack glue specifically for hypalon. Worked fine for me on minor repairs and attaching bits.

Hi John,
Get in contact with the guys at www.theribstore.co.uk, they were super helpful when I had larger hyperlion ribs.

If memory serves me correctly the cleaning/ degreasing agent the pros use for hyperlon is toluene, take care though an extremely flammable solvent.

Thanks chaps - I have used Polymarine before with good results, on handles and the like, usual prep: remove old adhesive from both surfaces, roughen, wipe with acetone, coat both surfaces, when touch dry coat again, then wait and join. I may though contact the rib store just in case they can recommend a stronger adhesive. Its only because its the top of the transom. Any further comments/advice welcome.....
