Hydraulic Drives

I have just got a river cruiser with a hydraulic drive ( engine across the boat) which is all new to me. Any experts out there please. I would like to know: Do they wear ( I guess they must) can one replace bits/seals etc. and if its all bad news where do you buy new ones! I have found various web references to loss of power due to oil temp. Any one experience of fitting a cooler.

Keep the oil & filter in good condition and it will be fine. At normal river speeds with good oil you shouldn't need a cooler if ones not already fitted. Local boat hire companies are the best source for advice on parts etc. These are comercial unit and should last years in private use.
