Hydraulic connector leaking

What am i doing wrong here ?
Same lines as for the old pump, yes one is bend, was so b4 and did not leak
I had to put the copper adaptor in, had some brown stuff in the thread

It’s up quite tight, but i am concerned about stripping the copper adaptor, should i be using white plumbers tape ?
If so, where ?

I suspect the problem is the copper adaptor, as I don’t think it will have the correct internal sealing face for your hydraulic hose nipple. Ideally, the hydraulic hose should be connected directly to your pump without the use of any adaptor.

have you damaged the inside cone seal ,have you fitted dowty washer between adapter and the housing

like allanG you should have a dowty washer between adapter and pump (dowty washer is a washer with a rubber seal on inside just get one the size of the fitting they cost pennies from any hydraulic store or ebay.)

as its a tad windy the park and ride guy had a moment to check where it leaked, indeed, between the adapter and the pump.
no 'washer' present, not one with the new pump.
used some ptfe tape, that sealed it. was v careful not to get the tape inboard of the thread.

solutions:
dowty washer
get some 542 loctite
or leave it as it is

what do you guys recon ?

Personally, I wouldn’t use PTFE tape on any hydraulic fitting, so I would remove the tape and use a dowty washer.

the adapter went on very easy and is on square, something odd about the picture having distortion.

tempted to take the adapter off, strip the ptfe and get some loctite to set 3.
its going to be there for a while, dont want it shaking loose, especially as the adapter went on so easily.

so if you use locktite and it leaks ,it could be hard to get off ,I think oil threads are tapered so should not need but not sure,now if the flex has the same end you could take it off and see if it has a seal in there ,then get 2 new ones for each end

hm, that's an interesting point, but given time to set i can't see why the loctite would leak ......

the adapters are not tapered as noticed by the park and ride guy, which is i guess the issue without a dowty washer.
however the adapters threads are not a tight fit in the pump and i am reluctant to stress the adapters with a dowty, perhaps me being too cautious.

the old pump took the flex direct, no adapter needed.

Loctite 577.

+1 also 577 does not harden, but only on the thread of the fitting into the body, not on the cone seal, this should be dry, as should the companion nut that secures it.

There needs to be a dowty washer between brass fitting and casting , NO PTFE TAPE and NO LOCTITE , dont use these. There also needs to be a cone inside that brass bush for the steel pipe to seal against. Strip them and take pics inside them and I will you what the issue is as I have a little experience in this field !
