and finally ....you can never have to many fenders, and yes you could hear the gel coat parting company with the hull in the lock from the bridge upstream.

Ps.There were an equal quantity of fenders on the other side.
All the usual suspects were in attendance, excellent performance from the "Chefs".the DJ and Mrs Sherlians supply of kebabs etc .... and the ladies who provided the "afters".
Thanks to Mrs Release for the HotDog on arrival and Ms B1 for warmth and shelter during the afternoon

Looks like a good time was had by all! We are going to stay at the fancy new moorings tomorrow night. Are there any shops in Hurley and any pubs to recommend, I heard a pub closed there recently?

There is a well stocked shop in the village and two pubs the Rising Sun and cant remember the name of the other one, only that is really expensive!
Had some good meals in the RS in the past but not been there in the last year.
The moorings look great I had to visit a customer in Hurley yesterday so I had a wonder over, Only 2 boats moored there.

Have fun, Chill

The Rising Sun is CLOSED with a sign in the windows saying it has been entered by the landlords to make it safe only, and not to determine the lease.

Rebellion is available in the Olde Bell I think.

Thanks Brayman, I think our post crossed over!

We are booked into The Brasserie at Bray Marina Friday night, but the marina don't know where they can fit us, so might well be stuck out the front. Keep an eye out for us and pay us a visit! Will the club house be open, as might gate crash for a quick 'roadie'?

At Bray marina, out the front is the best place.

The clubhouse isn't due to be open but if Darren's around he might have cobbled a group together for a bbq, in which case keep a lookout.

Enjoy, sorry to have missed you while you were up our way.

The other pub is the 'Olde Bell', good beer, surprisingly, and good bar meals. The Rising Sun is, ahem, sczite.

One of the pubs was very very shut when we drove past on our way to the "do" last weekend.
Boarded up and about 10 freezers scattered around carpark.

What's wrong with being inside Bray marina then? Although if stopping overnight and going to the Brasserie, then I'd agree being outside is easier.

Sorry but will not be getting there until late on Friday, so I will be unable to open up the club house. It is possible one of the other committee members may decide to do so though.

Darren.

Do in the end, How many boats did you get in then?

Sorry missed this one previously, though I think Ramage has answered it.

We had fifteen boats on the lower moorings and five in the upper pool. Could probably have got another couple in both areas but then we had four boats moored on annual moorings that are currently un-let, so would not expect them to be available much longer.

We were all set to stay the night at Hurley, beautiful village, Nd went to Ye Old Bells for a few, as you do, and then had the overwhelming desire for a curry and ended up in Marlow! Maliks was very good,it was going to be that or The Tiger Cub, whichever we saw first. The Rising Sun is opening on Saturday with an Elvis night. Looking forward tithe brasserie tomorrow night.

It now sounds like one of the other committee members is going to open up the club house tonight and possibly have a BBQ outside, so any Bray members in the area, pop in for a chat.

Darren.
