Sold my Hunton 36 in August . Looking for next boat,

Hard boat to follow

Would like the Axopar 37 but unfortunately out of price range, OR I go Boat share which is possibility

Looking for cruising speed in the 30-40 knot range Not ready to go slowly
Length 30 - 40 foot
nothing older than 2005

Hard Top boat for all year use. In UK
Budget £100K max ideally
Looking for something safe when at anchor for the Grand kids
The Axopar 28 could fit the bill

In board or Outboard

Any other suggestions ?

That's quite a tight set of parameters but ones I can relate to!

Not sure about your cabin / internal layout requirements but what about a Windy Grand Mistral 37?

Might need to stretch the budget a bit but that is not uncommon in the world of boat purchases....

Windy Grand Mistral 37

Not got too many options here with that list of criteria.

I am bias of course having had both Hunton and Axopar. Have a look at the saxodor 32. Not in the flesh yet and again stretching the budget but new boat?

Perhaps an XO 270 cabin although again, pushing the budget.

Protector Rib perhaps?

Way back, i looked at a Masmar 33. not many around but interesting boat to meet your requirements?

Interested to hear what other options the team come up with here.

Yes right requirement but after owning a Hunton where do you go?
Not too worried on Cabin internal layout to be honest as 99% of time boat will only be used as a day boat.
The Windy is worth a thought .
thanks for suggestion

Rib is not really what I am looking for .
Some good ideas there and definitely worth looking at further.
thanks z1ppy

Hard to meet the HT and Speed and Budget requirements.... which is sacrificial?
Have been spoiled for the last 10 years on the speed side. Hard to let that go. Like to get to places quickly and enjoy when there.
maybe the HT could go .......

We've got a windy 37 grand mistral, they do go well, and can maintain a high average speed through a decent chop, with comfort, but their top speed isn't mega fast,at least not with the more sensible engines. Depends what you're after really

I have had an Axopar 28 and now a XO270 Cabin, both great boats. The XO is more usable in my opinion and and runs better in our normal South Coast chop . The running costs between D6370 in XO and Verado300 on Axopar similar over a year once you take into account servicing and both boats top out around 42-43 knots

Looking at XO270's for sale I can see how the space looks more usable ,

Outboards are the future Ian!

There was a smart 35 ft boat with twin 300 Verados at Swanwick the other day but new probably £500k....
