Hi, Iv recently purchased my first boat, its a little hunter 19 in need of a little work. I was wondering if any one could recommend a good book, website, guide etc on how to fix up a little boat such as this. The hull, trailer, mast and sails are all in great condition, its just the wiring, and some of the rigging that I could use some advice on as I am still pretty inexperienced in such matters. Looking forward to seeing how she is on the water :)

Thanks for any advice

Kind Regards

Marc

Well worth you looking at the Hunter Assoc website:

http://www.hunterassociation.org.uk/site/index.php

Lots of very specific info between Hunter owners etc. I think you will be able to read the discussion forum posts/replies but if you want to post a specific question, I'm sure you have to be a member of the assoc. £10 a year.

Maybe see you on the site.

Marc,

There is also a hunter19 users group on yahoo.

The South African's are still building and sailing them so their web sites are well worth the visit. Google it and you will find plenty.

As said before the Hunter Association is a good place to go and well worth the cost.

Have fun.

See if your local library has a copy of "Very Willing Griffin" by David Blagden. Single handed across the Atlantic in the 1972 OSTAR in a Hunter 19. Very good read!

Willing Griffin was for sale last year from the owner in Holland but I think he was looking for a lot of money (6000 euro's?)
