Hungry Sailor Gas Cooker

That boat is gorgeous.

I'm not normally into traditional craft but every now and then there is one that makes me want to learn how to do all the necessary woodwork and spend all year painting and varnishing. Amelie Rose is one of those boats.

Thanks for the replies the cookers are great looking but stunningly expensive

I think the cookers look good but prefer the top of the Force 10.
The top of the Force 10 will be easier to clean as the bars goes straight across from side to side. This make has to many curved bars on top which will make cleaning difficult.
If they brough out a top similar to the Force 10 it would be a winner. As it is I wouldn't buy one.

Thank you for the lovely comments about the Amelie Rose. I can confirm that Amelie Rose's cooker is a GN Espace Levant with optional cast iron pan supports. To address the cleaning question: the pan supports are all completely removable, and so keeping the cooker clean is a breeze

We are a charter boat, and so the cooker gets very heavy use cooking meals for around 8 people daily, which it copes with incredibly well. We have never used a boat oven that cooks better (including Force 10) and thoroughly recommend these tough little UK built cookers. (and no, we are NOT on commission :) )

Bear in mind - everything you see cooked aboard on the Hungry Sailors (from cakes to roast pork with crackling to die for) was cooked in the GN Espace.

In short, not cheap but worth every penny.
