Humminbird Fishfinder problems

Thanks for that link, I'll give it a go tomorrow. Thanks once again for your help.
Actually, just had a quick look at it, that's the one that wouldn't let me proceed without a valid telephone number, and wouldn't accept my mobile nor landline numbers...

Try: service@humminbird.com

Or ring them: Technical Support Department at 1-800-633-1468.

You will need to find what time zone it is:
Johnson Outdoors, Inc.
678 Humminbird Lane
Eufaula, AL 36027

Having dug out my old emails I see it worked fine for me using 44 (no plus) and then numbers without the zero or space

My experience with Humminbird fish finder was on the club rescue boat. Some turkey sold it to the club. GPS worked fine but fish finder depth sounder is quite high powered and obliterated the VHF radio reception. (coming in via VHF antenna not power lines). Fixed the problem when the boat sank on mooring washing the interference out of the Humminbird. Before that I did try to contact Humminbird by email if only to find a way of switching off the fish finder but got no answer. My advice give the Humminbird to the fish. ol'will

Rapidly coming to the same conclusion Will....Cheers.

You won't get far by using the 44 prefix - that's for the UK. The US prefix is +1 - hence the telephone number they've listed.
Try +1 8006331468

I'll try again. When I used the proforma email to Humminbird they wanted a telephone number. I used 44xxxxxxxxxx. It worked so it ought to work for you. If you don't like that, ring the service centre at the quoted US number. I don't know what Trans was on. Of course the 44 prefix is the UK. If you are sending your number to Humminbird, Humminbird want you number not their own number!

Tried again and it worked this time.

Dear Peter,

Thank you for contacting Humminbird Technical Support.

We regret that we no longer have any parts or service for your unit. Due to continuous improvements and rapid advancements in component technology in the consumer electronics industry; components can become end of life by our vendors. This in turn creates a situation where we can no longer purchase those parts nor have a suitable drop-in replacement. This affects our ability to repair retired, out-of-production products.

500 Series Products

We suggest you visit the Fish Finder Buying Guide on our web site to check out new models currently being produced.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Should you have any further questions, please let us know.

Good Fishing and Boating!
