Popped up to see my father in Beverley this weekend, and we took a trip into Hull. What a fascinating place! Never thought I would put the words fascinating and Hull in the same sentence!!
Went on board the side trawler Arctic Corsair (complete with dent in bow from an Icelandic gunboat), and had a guided tour by an ex fisherman, much respect. Loads of museums and old buildings nearby then walked down to the marina to case the joint for a possible sailing trip up north. Might even see Dylan before he moves on.

Mud......I thought we had our fair share but this was low water and I've never seen so much of the stuff. Huge cliffs of it, and more in suspension as the brown gloopy looking water swirled about the creeks.
Can see the attraction of the area though for something different, well, differentish :)

We were also very surprised the first time we visited Hull as we had been led to believe it was a bit of a dump. The area around the city centre and the marina has obviously had a lot of money spent on regeneration in the last few years and it really does show. We love heading to Hull whenever the chance arises.

We usually end up spending more time in Grimsby though as it is closer to the sea.
