Hull

His little red car was Lady Lakesailor's.
I haven't been down there since , ooooooh , 1967. I sailed with Jeremy Austin and his father Peter in a Rivers Class gaffer called Clwyd. (I think Peter was commodore or whatever you call them). I think we dropped Parky's Foxcub in there once, but after that it was the Marina at Hull.

Preston Marina today

Re: Hull - important update

Today, while crossing the bridge during my 4th week of doing so, and on the first day that we've not had beautiful blue skies and its rained in all that time, I saw for the very first time, two boat sailing past the Green channel lightship just under the bridge....

Go figure!

Strange bunch you northeners... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Hull - important update

I've been on top of the bridge towers a couple of times for a civil engineering company I did work for. The very top; on the cable saddles. It's very high feeling. The pic here is taken from the cross beam, but then you climb up a ladder on the outside of the tower to the top of the main cable he's hanging from.
I do have another pic somewhere of him at the end of that short rope. Luckily it has a stopper knot.

Re: Hull - important update

Until the three main bridges on the River Hull open to let a chuffing little yacht through and all traffic into Hull comes to a halt.

That's the Clive Sullivan Way in the bottom of my pic. I used to live in the clump of trees at the top left of the pic. (couldn't afford a house)
