I understand it is possible to get the hull gelcoat professionally polished and the results are very good. Can anyone recommend someone in our area who provides this service, and give an idea of cost for a 28ft boat?
I’ve used aqua detail before, did a good job. I did my own this year, 32’, platform makes a huge difference. Pleased with the result though, if you’ve got the time it’s doable, boatyard staff even complimented me so I can’t have been that bad.I just drove past a van heading towards Ipswich

No connection and I've never used them!
It is not difficult to get a good shine on a hull. My 32ft yacht takes me 2 days to compound and 3 coats of polish. You may find this presentation I made worth a look.I understand it is possible to get the hull gelcoat professionally polished and the results are very good. Nice guide and easy to read. I swear I recognise Concerto, I have seen her sailing in the Medway. Were you based at some point at MDL Chatham? It is not difficult to get a good shine on a hull. Yes, you would have seen her. After 11 years at Chatham, Concerto moved to Pwllheli, N Wales as I moved from Kent to Cheshire. That move resulted in catching a fishing marker off Salcombe and it sheared the P bracket. She has just had the repair completed, thankfully covered by insurance.Nice guide and easy to read.
