I guess this is digging the footings for the new waterside bar and restaurant ?

Anyone know who or what type of restaurant it will be?
:D:p

The building will house 2 offices on the first floor and is described as being a mix of a lounge bar, cafe with formal dining facilities. Details in the Penarth Marina Handbook. Parking will be in the western end of the boatyard.

Due to open in early Summer apparently.

Lets just hope the piling works don't affect the, in places, fragile cliff face by the outer basin car park . .

Does that mean we will now be able to get a breakfast when visit Penarth now? Thats one of the main reasons we overnight at MQ usually.

Just checked the Quay Marinas brochure and it says that the restaurant will be accessible from the water side by boat, so I guess they will be appealing to the resident and visiting boats. Don't know if they will serve butties for breakfast, it states in the brochure that the restaurant/bar operator has yet to be appointed although there are interested parties.

Looks like it will be a very nice addition to Penarth Marina.

Still think a big free pontoon outside Penarth tesco, marine scene, train station etc. would be good.

You'd have thought that some enterprising individual would do that plus plug into the fuel supplies at tesco pumping station. Nice clean fuel due to the regular churn and you can get clubcard points to boot ;-)

Has anyone been to Pier 64 yet?

As expected it is on the expensive side from what I gather - including breakfast!

Hmm tescos could get quite a lot of business from one If they were prodded maybe they would put money up for one would be good business sense for them

Does that Tesco have a cafe that does brekkie?
If so, a pontoon would be great.

Tesco's used to do brekkie but not any more, nearest one is the Ostercatcher pub just near Tesco's or Morrisons a short walk over the new bridge and past the white water log flume thing.
