just the video was posted before, and at the time I wondered if there would have been any damage.... I must say I came to the conclusion that the boat probably would have remained unscathed....... silly me. :eek:

A bit less power might have helped, but it's the wrong place to be!
Power boats and breaking waves are not a good combination.

Tough one. It's just the wrong place to be in all respects but would need to climb the wave and take the power of as you go over the top so bows drop and you can ride down the back of the wave. Power off to early and you will get pushed around by the breaking wave. Too much power and you see what happens. Guess it's a no right answer???

If you watch the slow-mo at the end of the clip the crew actually 'lift' out of the cockpit as the boat drops off the big'un.

I know hindsight is a wonderful thing but surely running over the back of a really steep wave would be better tackled at about 45 deg. to minimise the free-fall?

He does seem to run at an angle to the waves to start with but heads up to the bigen! I guess it its breaking you have more chance of being turned by the breaking wave the more hull length you offer to it?
