Dear all,
I have read this month´s article on varnishes and have a question for you all. We have a yacht club in Spain with wooden floors, of ipe wood. The builder recommended to oil it yearly, and we did, but as it is such a hard wood it takes forever to suck it, and it leaves the floor sticky, as it never dries completely, and catches all the dust in seconds, so it never looks clean. A different company has recommended to take out the oil completely and leave the wood as is, which seems odd to me.
This month´s article was on varnishes more than oils, but I figured this must be the forum where more wood experts are around, and surely some of you know which is the proper way to treat ipe? Remeber it is for indoor use.
Thanks in advance,
cesar
