How to shower while crusing?and where

From "The Voyage Alone in the Yawl Rob Roy" by John MacGregor published 1867.

"...it is well known that a man can get a very good vapour-bath by sitting over a rushlight, with blankets fastened all round."

With habits like this, it`s no wonder he sailed alone.

The 'Sandhurst Shower' - lashings of Brut of something equally disgusting. No time for anything else. Wonder if Harry is experiencing it?

Funny you should say that! Just yesterday she said i should put the boat away for winter as it was to small to go on!! Though today is clear sun and fresh!

She thinks to that aigues-mortes is dead in winter!! and has to many mosquitoes in summer!!ummm??
The thought of snow to wash in maybe fine for the northern tribes but im from London there we dont have snow only slush!! Good way to keep fit and healthy--im told!!

HWMBO & our daughter stripped off and soaped up in the Solent - problem was the rain stopped /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif I stayed dirty in full oilies and was much better off IMHO ! Perhaps the moral of this tale is only soap up when you're somewhere it rains all the time like Scotland ?!

You need a childs plastic paddling pool, a rubber foot operated water pump, 10 feet of hose and a T piece. Cut 2 feet of hose and drill 1/8 th holes on one side. Make a loop with T and connect to pump with remaining hose. Stand in pool, add warm water, place loop round neck and pump in pool. With care over 80% of the water will be returned to the pool.

I have seen large liveaboard families on small boats use this on a rota basis. [ Yes they were French ! ]
