Good article but from experience they don't come apart that easy! The end caps on mine just would not budge, we even tried lots of heat, all sorts of tools and still they would not open up. In the end we cut them out of the way and had to replace them with 4 new ones which to get to the inboard securing pins lead to a significant amount of the engine ancillaries, calcifier, batteries etc etc having to come out.

The tool is critical, you almost only get one chance and if you slip and soften the edges it can become a problem. This is the tool that eventually worked for me, you may need some heat.
