I've got some small pieces of 1.2m aluminium sheet to fit. I need to cut the corners with a radius so that they look good. How would you recommend I do it?
1.2 mm? not hard to cut with an electric jig saw but go slow as a lot of heat is generated.
Neater edge and will stay flatter if sandwiched between scrap hardboard or similar.
Try a nice sharp pair of none serrated kitchen scissors but don't tell SWMBO .. Just tried it on a piece of 2mm .. More chance of slipping with a knife .. You can get a nice round end very easily .. If your just taking the corner off then a sharp file round the end
Depending on the size radius you need. Mark the radius you require on two pieces of scrap hardboard put one on each side of the sheet of aluminium and clamp to the bench. Get an emery flapwheel , fit to your drill and shape the edge, or, use tinsnips to cut a near shape and finish to size/shape needed. Nothing high tech required!
