I’ve got a small working job from a previous boat which would make a good Storm jib but I would really like it to be high visibility orange.

Can anybody recommend the best fabric paint/technique or advice from experience of trying this ?

I’m conscious that ‘normal’ paint would just crack and peel off. If that’s the hive conclusion I guess I can just sew in some cheap orange nylon rip fabric panels onto the sail.

Dye ?

I would not paint .. even with fabric paint.

I would talk to fabric people about a suitable permanent dye ...

Just a comment - years ago - I took a white spinnaker and in Blue Peter fashion .... bound up a large part of the centre and then dipped into a bin of dye. Removed while keeping the centre bundle uppermost .............. let the excess run off ... drip away. then opened it up to dry .... had a white centre and then literally a bomb burst of dye colour out to the extreme ...

Try fence panel protection won't be bright orange but near enough water based soaks in and stains well won't dry on to a crack like paint , re coloured whitening tan sail sun strip with mahogany worked well there's more orange colours maybe Cedar
