The mast on my 38 has following :

a) B&G Wind cable
b) Masthead anchor light / tricolour combo cable
c) Steaming light cable
d) VHF coax
e) Broadcast radio antenna coax

Previous owners had all 5 cables bunched together entering via a round gland with what appears to have had a clip on style - the clip on cover missing by time I bought boat !. Whoever stepped mast last time .. wrapped self-amalgamating tape over tope of silcon trying to seal the cables ... a real mess that leaked .. No real surprise with 5 different sized cables bunched and passing through a round hole !

The question is now - how to solve this - I don't really want to start cutting 4 more holes to cater for each one ..

The deck socket is only about 10mm proud of the GRP .. so difficult to sort something to it.

The B&G cable has multi core proprietary plug / socket inside deckhead ..

as do the VHF and music radio coax's .. the light cables are spade joints.

What to do .. I thought of cutting a short lengthy of pipe sleeve ... pass all cables through .. and then seal with silicon into the deck fitting you see there .. but its still 5 cables bunched together.

Exact same problem. I replaced 3 x deck glands: 2 x round glands, single cable, 1 x rectangular gland with 3 cables, with a de k cable port, just one hole for everything.

Available from SVB

Edit
Thus has been water tight for over 10 years. The home takes the VHF cable plug, so that remains below deck.

mmmmm like it .. not the price though !! But its got that Marine name !!

The cable entry I have is at an angle of about 30 deg from horizontal as they made it on the raised mast base ..

It certainly would do the job .. and means only making sure the deck hole itself suits ...

As you probably know, big ships use a cable transit. If you can find a small one it is possible to remove individual cables or add new ones.

scanstrut do a small one but it is nearly £50.

If the total number of wires allows, you could combine all lighting, power, and possibly B&G signal wires into a single 13-core trailer cable. Run this through one gland and consider adding a trailer connector near the mast for easy disconnection when removing the mast. These cables and connectors are highly waterproof since they’re designed for use under vehicles.
For the FM radio, you can likely use the existing VHF antenna with a splitter. That way, you only need one additional hole or gland for the antenna cable.

I have considered this route ... but then I need to sort making all the connections on deck outside 'cabin' ...

All ideas are much appreciated and all get put into the 'pot' .. we have at least 4 months to think it through before considering mast up again ..
