Mounted a new SS exhaust elbow on a VP D2-55 and used Permatex Red Rtv as a silicone gasket.
Cleaned on the outside and then I started to think on how does it look on the inside, is silicone reducing the area for the exhaust gases?
If I open and look I assume the gasket will be damaged.
Is Permatex red rtv silcone gasket something you remove and add new silicone every time when you remount after say a future inspection/ cleaning?
