What's the correct way to attach a battery charger when you have two banks (engine and domestic) connected by a voltage sensitive relay?

If you connect it to the same battery as the alternator, commonly but not necessarily the engine battery. The VSR will then treat it in the same way as the alternator.


If you have a dual sensing VSR you may prefer to connect the charger to the domestic battery, so that this gets first bite of the cherry, even if the engine battery has priority from the alternator.


Alternatively, maybe, you only need to use the charger for the domestic battery anyway.

That is my set up, when the voltage comes up the engine battery is connected too
