First 3 years of owning an already very well maintained boat, never having maintained a sea boat before and while living on board:

Installing MPPT/Inverter/Charger + etc (me)
Installing solar panels on pilothouse roof (me)
Insulating and relining as much of the vberth and cabin as was reasonable (me)
New curtains (me, well not the sewing)
New toilet pump (me)
Replace heater (me)
Strip and re-varnish rubbing strake and whatever the trim around the cabin is called (me)
Epoxy hull after getting it blasted (paint me blasting not me)
Hippie antifouling (not me)
Fill / fair / paint deck, cabin and non slip in cream / white (me, additional deck work after spilling thinners)
Breaking my bloody mast (insurance paid for repair, but have stumped up additional for a replacement with a slightly larger section as I now don't trust the original spec) (not me)
New carpets (not me)
General engine stuff (finding an air leak in fuel line etc) (me)
Currently: redoing ancient seatalk / dataline navtech with Orca + n2k (me)
Want to: Add starlink (me)

Also want to: actually go sailing more. Boats are quite an all consuming pastime. The new PBO project boat is a neighbour.

Too often seen shop guys fit Talurit .... where guy has then 'squeezed' it twice to make sure...... WRONG !

Giving it that "extra 'squeeze' to be sure" can actually cause micro-fracture of the Talurit .......

Not being smart - but Swaged and Talurit are not same game ..... but terms often mixed.
One assumes you follow the instructions, rather than inventing 'better' ways of doing it?
Both are swages, just done in different ways....

I don't make up Rigging .... but because of my lifelong boating and having worked as a youngster in Boat Yard (Fareham) ..... I learnt early on about Talurits from the riggers.

The problem with the term Swage ... is whether a Noun or a Verb. As a verb - it denotes the swaging (high pressure crimping) .... but as a Noun - it denotes a long terminal end fitting.
Talurit has no second definition - it is one and only as a Noun.

Just response to being 'called out' ...... no insult intended ... just responding.
'Calling you out?' Bit strong for suggesting following the instructions . One might call Talurit a proper name, as it the company that makes the kit, but also an adjective to discribe the type of swage.
