That's great that BW have so many cables and taps and sensors , but they don't contribute towards keeping the water levels under control.
The Thames is managed by the EA and it's team of crack lockstaff.![]()

I meant to say EA and not BW... My point was that with all this kit and its loyal staff River levels are managed and so Joe Public sees very little panic - AKA swan / duck swimming analogy.
As it happens articles in WW mentions BW's kit - not as extensive as EA network, but as T_L says they don't contribute to river level management - just dump excess fluid to EA via overflow sluices.
So, I fouled that one up, by not proof reading it properly. 'Twas supposed to be a supportive post...
