After the latest tax hike you'll pay about €1.00 to 1.05 for white diesel from a garage. Last time I asked green diesel was €1.10 a litre from a marina before tax. You may not need to phone the maths dept at your local Uni to work that one out.

You're supposed to account for the tax on green diesel at the end of the tax year. Quite how that works for visitors I don't know. Perhaps they'll tell on you to Gordon.

You can convert to un-funny money by checking the exchange rate on Yahoo or similar.

Now that's what I call 'after-sales service' !

Ultima Oil deliver green diesel to public quays and slipways in places like Dun Laoghaire if you need a decent amount (ie they fuel fishing fleet and leisure boaters). Avoid Marina prices in DL or Malahide as they can be much higher than direct from road tanker. I've used Ultima a few times off public piers in DL.

Yes marina fuel prices can be a rip off when it's so easy to get it from a road tanker at a public quay or beside a public slipway. The price difference can be as much as 25-30%. I think the tanker price is around 55c at the mo.

I filled up in Dun Laoghaire last weekend, 83c per litre. I don't know if you can still load from a tanker as the fishing quay is now barriered off and I suspect the harbour police may question permissions (they also tend to move on boats tied up to the quay wall).

If you pm me your email, I can send you the forecast that the marina sends out to berth holders. It's usually pretty good.
