Just preparing myself for a large bill.
I‘ve got water in the leg oil. How much (hours or ££’s) for a seal change on one leg. Assume out of the water and ready to go. It’s a KAD43P-A DP-E leg. Ignore the cost of oil.
I‘ll then double that because “I’m an Englishman in Catalonia“

Last year I paid £850 incl. VAT for both drives to be removed all seals and gaskets changed as well as oil in both. This was in Chichester.
for that they disasembled the whole drives in order to replace all the gaskets ?
and did the seals on the drive shaft as well as the seals on the prop shafts ?
presumably pressured tested them after
recon that's a bargain

Strip down and seal replacement isn't a big job.

However, are you sure that your shafts aren't the issue?
It’s all happened, I await the bill. Communication from the Spanish yard is not great so I‘m assuming the shafts were OK but you’re right I have seen pics of grooved shafts (not mine).

Actually this is part of a saga
Every year I instruct “Check the leg oil and contact me if any milkiness”
This year I get the communication “….both your drives have been repaired”
I reply ”Have you changed the seals?“
I notice from my Apple Tag tracker that’s it’s gone back into the yard. No reply.

I’m feeling well out of control hence my financial panic.

No - removed drives - replaced one top box - replaced drive shaft seals and prop shafts - pressure tested - only one internal seal replaced between top box and lower unit. He is one of the best but very hard to get hold of - you can understand why.

4 hours max

I had my DPE done last year, after finding water in the outdrive oil, a flush, shaft and selector seals changed, £450. It's been perfect since
