How many outboard manufacturers are there?

Several designers and engineers met at a facility in Grand Rapids Michigan earlier this Year.
To develope a new Outboard engine.

'K' is the first letter of the Make.
Green is the colour of Team's racing projectiles.

Oh! and they have been known to manufacture quite a few 'Sea Lice'

Grand Rapids is the home of Kawasaki Hydraulics and their racing colour is green.

So, is it a hydraulic motor fueled by sea lice?

Incidentally, there is an incurable disease called Kawasaki Disease.

Dunno the answer to that.

Incidentally, there is an incurable disease called Kawasaki Disease.

Do know the answer to that Disease.

Well not so much a cure but the remedy does slow the Kawasaki down and helps it to 'sleep' a while.

Should be taken in generous doses.
Every 12 minutes or so after a decent meal no earlier than 19.00 hours Daily.

For a period of about 3 hours.
Then the Kawasaki Disease will be rendered harmless until about 08.00 hours the following day.

Tiss available without a Prescription.
Most good stores (Tesco's) for instance sell it in 70 cl containers.
For as little as £7.87!
The medicine is best when 'made up' in Scotland, imho.

Though the Irish version can produce the same temporary relief.
However, I do believe, as You so rightly state.
A permanent cure has yet to be found.

For people who get the Disease, I,m afraid it is Terminal.

Nice to see an old thread come back to life.

The project to catalogue all the parts for all outboard motors is on hold while we address the car industry. But one day we will come back to it and also marine engines.

It all changes on a regular basis. Tohatsu are the largest outboard manufacturer in the world.
At the moment Nissan, Mariner, and Mercury are all Tohastsu.
But it depends on the size. Yamaha used to be the small Mariner. The bigger ones can be other manufacturers.
Johnson/Evinrude have mainly done their own thing.

It can get very complex.

in former communist yougoslavia they had a outboard brand called "Tomos"
I don"t think the factory is still existing,
but still many small Tomos outboards running in Croatia

Only some (smaller) models Lakesailor. Most of the non-small Merc range is Merc's own with some Yamaha sourced/JV

But you didn't quote all I said
