How long to service a d6 and drive?

I am wondering what a typical 200 hour service time for a VP D6-400 and its DPI assuming nothing untoward. Perhaps VP even have recomended times? Anyone know? Thanks.

Just had my 2x D4s with DPH done. Engines £2k and drives £1.6k. That’s a boat in warranty, done by Golden Arrow so probably not the cheapest. The D6 will be a bit more. Hours not itemised on invoice, just priced at a fixed rate.

Lift and launch extra.

Well Paul answered the hours above and I would expect he has a very good understanding of that. As to the work, oils, filters, belts I don't think/can't remember, bellows, lots of inspections, grease points, anodes, software. A lot of the time goes in getting the drive off/on to change the bellows. I think that is about it.

Yes a detailed list of procedures would be interesting as I am considering a D6 installation.

A close read of the manual will answer all of the what's involved questions. I wouldn't presume to advise, but share my experience with twin D6 engines and DPH drives. I would source the parts myself and only buy VP branded items which they manufacture (not much); they don't manufacture oil or filters for instance. Materials cost me around £700 pa. I would DIY the steps that did not require specialised knowledge or skill, like change the oil, all filters and impeller. Labour cost for my last service on the South Coast was 10 hours ~ £700 incl. VAT

Twin so two. As Volvo Paul pointed out earlier the hours needed are not great. So as long as you have a Volvo trained independent engineer at a reasonable rate.... (Hard to find of course)

I wouldn’t insult the engineer by offering to supply my own parts, would you do the same to the garage when servicing your car ? In fact a few I’ve used over the years refuse to fit parts they haven’t supplied and I don’t blame them. That’s probably why you say it’s hard to find a good engineer.

Well said , I wasn’t going to chip in here but now you have , correct I don’t fit customers own parts unless it’s something that’s out of my scope or it’s second hand in which case the liability is zero.
And yes there’s no wonder he can’t find an engineer , there’s plenty in and around Chichester all good engineers that know there job.
